Another cause for concern

Do you remember when I said this about the last days of our beloved Maggie?

Well, had you been living in our house at the time or speaking with me in person, I would have told you "it was the strangest thing" the way she just stopped eating.

I would have told you that while she wouldn't touch her food bowls all of a sudden, she would still drool over table food and gobble down pancakes or homemade cookies or even the hard dog biscuits we'd been refraining from giving her because the tumor in her lung was pressing on her esophagus.

Well, guess what she'd been eating since August?

Oh, my god. This whole thing has been such a tragedy. That it may have been behind what happened to Maggie... so, SO sorry.

So sorry.

To be accurate: This was not the reason Maggie died; she had been terminally ill, however it may have been what caused her to stop eating and prompted us to make the final call.

My heart just breaks for you and Maggie.

When I heard of the food recall, my heart froze with fear. I couldn't imagine losing my dog...

Big hugs.

Oh NO. This is awful. Like her death wasn't hard enough, this is a bitter pill to swallow.

Yikes.

ruth dynamite (of ruthless in the suburbs) had this happen to her.

Even if the pet food was just a contributory cause, that strikes me as bad enough.

WOW, I was just over at another blog and her cat died from the same thing. I mean from eating some of the food on the recall list. How horrible. Its sad to think you might of had more time. Very sad.

I am so sorry for your loss, and for the additional sadness of knowing that you might have had more time. This is an awful tragedy...

I hope you don't mind me posting a list of all of the recalled foods here, it might help some of your readers who aren't aware.

Oh no. I am so sorry. This must be such a difficult and frustrating tragedy - not knowing what could have been different. Even if this was only one of a million things leading up to the end of her life, that's bad enough in my opinion.

I'm really sorry...hugs.

My boyfriend's cat is dying slowly I believe as a result of eating contaminated food. Renal failure. Bastards. It's heartbreaking.
